Why this business. Why Round Rock. Why now.
I first saw resin-bound aggregate on a trip overseas — driveways and terraces that had been on the ground for fifteen years and still looked the way they did the day they were laid. No cracking, no fading, no joints. I came home looking for the central Texas installer doing premium work with the same system and couldn't find one.
Round Rock and Williamson County are where the buyer for this product actually lives. Premium-home density, master-planned communities that care about hardscape, and a wave of 1990s and 2000s concrete now hitting its replacement age. Stamped overlays don't survive Texas sun. Pavers settle in Houston Black clay. The market gap was obvious.
I read the Google reviews for every premium hardscape contractor in the Austin area before I started this. The complaints were the same story over and over. Schedule slips, vanished project managers, unvetted crews who had never seen the product. I built Round Rock Resin deliberately small so I could be the opposite of that.
On the technical side, I trained on the Vuba system so I can scope, spec, and quality-check every install against it. I'll be honest: we're early in Texas install volume. Every job gets disproportionate owner attention because we run a tight schedule on purpose, no more than two active jobs at any time, ever.
On the operator side, I've done this before. I previously built and scaled a blue-collar contractor business to roughly $5M a year, and I came up through the YC S19 founder program. I've spent my career on real job sites, not in a corner office, and that's where you'll find me on your install too.
